Devin Fitzpatrick Art Consultants Review: How to ensure a good art for your home

It is often the case for many houses to put artworks on their interior design to add more meaning to each room. Giving more beauty to a space in your house is exciting, right? And when you choose to buy artworks for your design, you will surely grasp the importance of having art in your place. Devin Fitzpatrick Art Consultants wants you to express yourself on your design as well by putting unique and special art that you like.

Art can provide both energy and elegance according to some art professionals. You will often see on known interior design magazines the importance of including art in decorating a home or office spaces. The inclusion of art is usually recommended to bring out the positive feelings from each person entering a room with artworks.

Consider buying local artworks if you’re currently searching for art pieces to put on the walls of your house. Local artists offer beautiful, quality and original art, and are typically inexpensive, so this is a win-win situation. To add a personal touch, you can customize its frame according to your likings.

Ensuring a good art for your home needs you to follow some steps, and the important ones are provided in the following paragraphs by Devin Fitzpatrick Art Consultants. Rest assured because each is very easy to follow.

Putting frames on the art is advised to make it look better and to add some style. Don’t worry if you put it on a cheap frame because you can modify it to give it a brand new and a personal touch. Framing art can also protect it from the harsh environment.

Balance the tone and scale of the artworks on your interior. If you’re going with different genres, ensure to still match the tone and scale of everything you put in a room. If you’re into black and white photographs and want to add more art of the similar feel, you can go with charcoal drawings or monochromatic paintings.

Create a beautiful collage on wide walls. If you have a lot of small art pieces, you can put them all together beautifully. For example, if you’re fond of mirrors, you can put different sizes of it on the wall to end up with an amazing mirror collage.

Stick with your concept or theme. The very first thing to consider in decorating your interior with artworks is choosing a theme, and after you decided with one, remain focus on it. Your theme could be categorized into two: traditional or modern. Choose soft and classical pieces for the traditional theme, while cutting-edge or contemporary art pieces for a modern theme.

Reading magazines about art decorating can also help you gather more useful information. Collect décor magazines and visit related blogs for a lot of good ideas. Write down all the ones that caught your interest.

Learn about the meaning of each artwork that you buy to better appreciate its value so that no matter how many years it is hanged on the wall, you will never get tired looking at it.

As mentioned earlier, make sure that there’s balance in your interior design. Carefully plan where you will put each art piece and after everything is organized, ask yourself if what you’ve done provided the right impression and have a good balance between its content, color, and shape.

Achieving stability is also important. Every piece should have a positive relationship to one another and should contribute to the consistency of your design. You may arrange the pieces according to their medium, genre, artist or color.

More Spacious Beaches Created Along Seawall Galveston Capital Tourism and Marketing Texas

GALVESTONBeachgoers arriving at the Galveston seawall this weekend will find a far more spacious beach to relax on following the pumping of more than 1 million cubic yards of sand along 3.5 miles of badly eroded beach.

The $19.5 million effort to pump sand taken from a sand bar in the Houston Ship Channel ended March 27 as the last batch of sand slurry plopped onto the new beach near 61st Street, said Reuben Trevino, operations manager for the Galveston Park Board.

"Come on down and enjoy the beach," said Kelly de Schaun, executive director of the park board.

Beachgoers will see the formerly narrow strip of beach extended to about 300 feet from the seawall. The beach is designed to gradually erode and form a slope until it stabilizes at about 150 feet, Trevino said. He said the process should take about two weeks.

The project got underway more than two months ago after numerous delays but was completed well ahead of the May 13 deadline set by the park board. The contractor would have faced penalties of $1,500 for each day it went past the deadline.

The contractor began by extending more than 4 miles of pipe from a sand deposit known as Big Reef, putting much of it offshore to avoid beach that fronted private property east of the seawall.

East Beach and Stewart Beach, on the eastern end of the island, are in an area where sand is collecting, keeping the beaches healthy. However, the beaches roughly west of 12th Street are eroding all the way to the western end of the island.

The contractor, New Jersey-based Weeks Marine Inc., began pumping sand onto eroding beaches at about 12th Street and gradually extended the pipeline as new beach was created.

The pipeline eventually extended more than 7 miles from the sand bar in the Houston Ship Channel to the project's end point at 61st Street. The pipe is now being taken apart.

NEW RIDE: Trolley to roll into Galveston by mid-May

The new beach will help act as a barrier from storm surges and boost the Galveston economy by keeping the beach a prime tourist attraction, de Schaun said.

The park board plans to use sand from Army Corps of Engineers dredging operations to maintain its beaches. The new sections of beach would probably need maintenance in about five years.

The board hopes to get money set aside by BP for coastal restoration following the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill that can be used for beach replenishment projects in 2018 and 2020, de Schaun said.

The two new projects would add to Babe's Beach west of 61st Street, built in 2015 in an area where erosion had wiped away all traces of beach more than 65 years earlier. The projects would shore up the existing Babe's Beach and extend it westward toward the end of the seawall.

JOYOUS MOMENT: Man proposes to girlfriend in Galveston Mardi Gras flash mob

The replenishment of the beach in front of the seawall is the third since 1995. The last beach renourishment was in 2009, when sand was hauled by truck to restore stretches chewed away by Hurricane Ike in September 2008.

The bulk of financing for the project has come from $15.5 million that originally was intended to help finance a $40 million beach restoration project for sections west of the seawall, the largest replenishment effort ever planned on the Texas Gulf Coast.

The project was scuttled after a Texas Supreme Court ruling in 2012 left in doubt whether the Texas Open Beaches Act applied to the west end of Galveston Island and raised the possibility that the beaches there were held by beachfront property owners. Then-Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson yanked the project, arguing that tax dollars could not be used to enhance private property.

The Land Office provided $2.7 million for the recently completed project and the Park Board and city of Galveston contributed $1.2 million.

A Galveston County man has sued H-E-B and RediClinic after he claims he fainted inside a Rediclinic at an unnamed store.

A Galveston County man has sued H-E-B after he claims he fainted inside a Rediclinic at an unnamed store.

A Galveston County man has filed a lawsuit against H-E-B and the grocer's in-store clinic, RediClinic, after he said he was injured while having blood drawn.

The suit, filed April 5 in Harris County Court by Raymundo Calvillo-Luna, does not specify the H-E-B store where the alleged incident occurred or the date of the incident.

Calvillo alleges in his petition that he had blood drawn as part of a physical at the H-E-B Rediclinic.

SHOPPING PERSONALITY: What does your favorite grocery store say about you?

"On the third unsuccessful attempt to draw blood, Calvillo fainted, fell to the floor, struck his head on the concrete floor, and had a grand mal seizure," the petition states. "He was taken by ambulance to St. John's Methodist Hospital and was diagnosed with a concussion and post-concussion syndrome."

Calvillo claims the clinic should not have allowed him to remain standing up while the technician drew his blood. He also claims the clinic failed to diagnose or treat the alleged head injury.

Calvillo seeks between $200,000 and $1 million in compensation, according to the petition.

H-E-B declined to comment on this pending litigation.

People encouraged to better secure online accounts following Yahoo breach by Online Security

Residents who use Yahoo Mail are being encouraged by the S.C. Department of Consumer Affairs to take action to secure their online accounts following the announcement last month of a massive breach.

During the last two weeks of September, Yahoo announced that at least 500 million user accounts had been compromised.

An investigation by Yahoo following suspicions of an attack in July uncovered a far larger, allegedly state-sponsored attack in recent weeks, according to the Associated Press.

“We take these types of breaches very seriously and will determine how this occurred and who is responsible,” the FBI said in a statement last week.

Given the importance most people place on protecting personal information, the Department of Consumer Affairs is encouraging Yahoo Mail users to take action by following several tips, said Megan Stockhausen, communications coordinator with the agency.

• Change the account password and security questions immediately. Use strong, creative passwords (uppercase, lowercase and special characters) and don’t share them with anyone. Also, don’t use the same passwords or security questions for multiple accounts, especially when using an email address as the login name on a site.

• Watch out for phishing attempts, which is defined by asking for personal or sensitive information via a phone call, text or email is a tactic used by scammers. Never reply to texts, pop-ups, or emails that ask for verification of personal information. Avoid clicking on links or downloading attachments from suspicious emails or texts.

• Closely monitor financial and benefits statements/accounts. Check all monthly statements and account activity, especially for financial accounts saved as payment options on internet merchant sites.

Review them carefully and notify the financial institution/provider as soon as an unauthorized or suspicious item is spotted.

• Consider a fraud alert and security freeze. Scammers may use the stolen information to open new accounts.

A fraud alert and security freeze are free security measures for a credit report. A fraud alert tells a business accessing the report to take extra steps to verify that the person holding the account is the one seeking its goods/services.

When a security freeze is in place, no one can access the report without the account holder approving it.

Stockhausen said these tips can help anyone trying to secure any personal online information.

Online Fraud Detection: Protected Media Launches Mobile Ad-Fraud Solution

Protected Media, a global provider of digital advertising solutions that increase media quality, announced today the availability of a multi-layered solution to effectively boost the value of mobile advertising. Protected Media is providing a multi-layered anti-fraud solution that detects a new strain of viruses that fake viewability, combined with a solution that verifies that ads are fully rendered and within viewing range on screens of mobile devices. Together, these two solutions provide double protection to protect advertising budgets and maximize the value of mobile advertising.

"Viewability is becoming a currency for online advertising, but at the same time bots are becoming more sophisticated and are undermining the validity of these measurements," said Asaf Greiner, CEO of Protected Media. "By detecting false viewability data that indicate that bots are at work, and then confirming that legitimate ads can be seen, we are providing a powerful combination that help bring back faith, trust and value to mobile advertising."

Inability to accurately verify the viewability of mobile ads is a growing concern for digital advertisers since mobile advertising is taking up larger portion of their budgets. According to eMarketer, mobile ad spending will grow 45% this year to reach $45.95 billion, and by 2019, mobile will represent more than a third of total media ad spending in the US. At the same time, mobile ads provide additional challenges due to the different types of mobile operating systems and devices and the fact that it can take longer to render ads based on connectivity.

Protected Media's anti-fraud solution utilizes technology and sophisticated methods from cybercrime investigations to uncover bots that fake viewability. Then, by providing information at the granular level about the exact position of mobile ads, Protected Media is able to confirm that legitimate ads are visible on mobile screens. In-depth reporting provides a detailed actionable data that can pinpoint exact sources of problematic traffic enabling agencies and publishers to identify all ads that aren’t visible, including those that are fraudulent and impersonate viewability to maximize mobile advertising effectiveness.

About Protected Media

Protected Media's solutions enable buyers and sellers of digital advertising to ensure that display mobile and video ads are properly located, visible, and seen by real people. Protected Media's technology provides in-depth information at the impression level to detect problematic traffic so agencies can work side by side with publishers to identify and eliminate suspicious activity to dramatically increase over-all ad quality. Hawkfield Gallery Consultants Review - A Home Filled with Art

Honestly, I am envious of people who grew up surrounded by art. It surely is different and a privilege to be exposed in such environment. This is why I envy with Sally Caverly, the owner and curator of Hawkfield Gallery. Her parents are both artists and growing up in a home filled with arts makes her appreciate the value of it even more, making her at home in art. During the years, she had grown to recognize the value of preserving impressive artworks made by different artists.

Sally first started her collection during her twenties where she fortunately acquired an artwork from the famous American pastel artist William Henry Chandler. And as I noticed, Sally has this love on artworks with birds, geese, ducks and wild animals which are evident on her collective artworks. This is maybe because of her attachment to her home environment in the East Coast. Her knowledge and keen taste in art developed as she learned to appreciate the beauty of nature and the breathtaking landscapes of her home environment.

Her passion for art is very strong considering that she even travels to participate in many art shows and sales. She even visits art museums and the homes of many reputable private collectors. The knowledge and experience she gained on her life journeys enormously contributed in preserving the charisma of Hawkfield Gallery in Massachusetts. With the help of her trusted fine arts consultants, Sally has maintained quality service and assistance to many satisfied art buyers and collectors.

Sally Caverly holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing from Simmons College and a diploma from Phillips Academy in Andover. In addition, she also holds a Master’s degree in Education. She worked as a Market Research Department Head at Houghton Mifflin Company and now serves as a Director at the North and South Rivers Watershed Association.
